For :icondisney-club:'s Fan Fave Princess Contest.

I thought that I would never make something for the contest, but I actually managed to do it! :D  I wanted to take a chance to draw Mulan again, I really loved watching the movie when I was a kid (actually all the disney movies I watched I really liked or loved).  The fact that she would pose as a boy in an army just to save her father is really the most noble and wonderful thing you can do for you family's honor.  It makes me smile just to think that she did this all to protect her father even if she was putting her whole life in danger.  :)

Anyways, onto the piece itself, I really wanted to draw more than just a full body Mulan smiling and waving at the camera or something like that.  So I added a dynamic that involved on of her companions (which made including the extra points easier for me).  The background I was actually surprised with because it came out so well, just using airbrushes and different colors together. :wow:

So here are the extra points that I include in this piece:
Locale: The Snowy Mountains where she and the army encounter Shan-Yu's big army.
Companion: Khan the horse
Object: The Crescent of the Emperor she receives at the end of the movie.
Talent: Riding Khan into battle (she does have amazing horse skills for being a woman, which is actually a pretty amazing feat considering the time period this movie takes place in where women were only bred to be married and bear children for their husbands).
I had a lot of fun drawing this piece and I hope you guys like it. :)

You've done a great job showing Mulan's dedication here from her expression and little details like how she's gripping on Khan's reins. I love the colors you chose to delineate the snow, they are quite true to life.
