Its been quite a while since I made a journal like this. Life just got in the way basically, but I'm trying to post more on here. Though with dA with the way it is now, I'm not sure if anyone will see this...

So I've been in the mood to take art trades once again, only a couple for now to start with. If anyone is interested comment down below, or if you know someone that is open for art trades, let me know too.

Well, about a good time as any to post this, since this is the last day of the old dA site.
I really do wish it would stay, I loved how much I can make it customizable to show...well me as an artist.
However, just because Eclipse is almost here, doesn't mean I'm leaving the site for good.  I'm willing to give it a try and see how it rolls.
I will however, be planning to open up an Instagram very soon.  I have a Tumblr as well, but don't use it as often (And a ToyHouse too, but that needs a lot of work).  It's a bit nerve wracking and exciting to be stepping into another social media, and hopefully it'll work out.
I will update this journal once I get all my links set up.

And well, to the old dA site, goodbye my friend.  I will miss you dearly.

Yep as the title says.  Lately I've been itching to rp in the WIR universe, whether in the arcade itself, or into the internet.  If anyone wants to do a short or long one, let me know in the comments or send me a note.  I'm good to start either here or in the notes, whichever works for you. :)

*takes a deep breath* Okay, time to get this out of my mind.

I planned on posting this after I had watched the movie when it came out, but due to a friend of mine not seeing it until this month I held back on it.  And my friend saw it a day or two ago, so time to review/talk about the movie! :D

Just to be clear before I get into it, this is my own opinion.  I'm sure everyone else has a different take on the movie, which I appreciate.  So please, respect what I have to say even if you agree or disagree.
With that out of the way, let's get to it.

I may as well start out to say: I love this movie.  I was very scared and worried that it wouldn't live up to the six year expectation building up.  But boy, it was worth the wait.  The story takes place about six years later.  The steering wheel of Sugar Rush brakes, so it's up to Ralph and Vanellope to find the new part before her game gets taken away.  And the one place they will find one is the Internet.  And so their adventure ensues.

The animation looks a lot more cleaned up, and when they get to the Internet, there are so many so called easter eggs and things to look at.  I've watched this movie three times, and I still think I've missed something.  The colors are really vibrant once Ralph and Vanellope get to the Internet.  Speaking of, these two still have the same adorable friendship chemistry from the first one.
I'm really glad they still are the lovable, goofy characters from the first one.  The new characters introduced in this movie were very memorable, even for a sequel.  There's Yesss, the algorithm of BuzzTube (which I love her outfits), Shank from Slaughter Race (one of the best racers of her game, and a really pretty lady if I do say so myself), Spamley and Gord (who have such good hearts, and cute too), and let's not forget Knowsmore (the precious, smart little egg who's pretty sassy lol).  Even the princesses that Vanellope meets are still interesting, and I especially loved one part with them that gets me to smile every time. :D

The message of this movie was very surprising to me, and it took a rather interesting turn (I actually was tearing up towards the end).  But for what they had, I really think they did a wonderful job with it.  And the credits, amazing.  I was laughing every time I saw it. XD  If you have seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

*takes another deep breath*

Alright, I have a lot more that I want to talk about, but I must warn you that this will go into spoiler territory for the movie.  So if you haven't seen Ralph Breaks the Internet yet, please go watch it first before coming back.  But just in case you want to read more, I will put markers to where it starts and ends.

Begin of the Spoilers

Okay, for this I'll go in order of the events that happen in the movie.  I've heard people were very disappointed that Felix and Calhoun were not in this movie very much.  Yes one part of me was curious as to how they took care of fifteen Sugar Rush racers after their game got unplugged.  But honestly, I didn't mind it too much.  This was Ralph and Vanellope's story, even though I was curious about them.  Besides, if we get a short on what they did during the movie, then that's a-okay with me.

Now I want to talk about where the story went.  Ralph and Vanellope found the steering wheel, but accidentally bid too high on it.  So they ask Spamley to help them earn money.  Which leads them to Slaughter Race.  This is where it gets interesting for me.  Vanellope loves the game, it's dangerous but she never knows what's going to happen.  While in Sugar Rush, six years later, she knows all the race tracks and moves.  It's sort of a mid life crisis for her from what I could see.  She's very impressed with Shank and her driving skills, and eventually wants to stay in this game and follow her dreams after getting some advice from the princesses.  There's even an actual music number, which honestly was amazing in itself.

Ralph on the other hand, doesn't want Vanellope to leave.  This is where I found that people are split.  Some say that he's been dumbed down and is being very selfish and controlling.  I think the opposite.  He goes to great lengths like becoming a star on BuzzTube with Yesss's help.  He even gets the steering wheel, before the last third of the movie even starts.  But yes, he does bad things to try and get his friend back too, by releasing an insecurity virus into Slaughter Race, almost giving Vanellope a game over.  But you have to understand that Ralph never had a real friend for most of his life.  He was a bad guy, and people tend to stay away from people labeled like him.  Of course he's going to take measures to not loose his only friend.  Their friendship isn't very toxic, despite the actions Ralph takes.

This all comes to a head in the climax, where the virus scans Ralph's insecurities which morphs into many Ralph viruses.  Let me quickly say that the multiple Ralphs before they turned into a giant one made of Ralphs, was actually very hilarious to watch.  I don't know why but it wasn't very scarring to me.  Back to my point, we find that this giant Ralph represents the insecurities this wrecker has about his friend.  He doesn't want to let go, even though Vanellope wants to stay.  In the end he realizes that like Shank said: 'there's no law that says best friends have to have the same dreams'.  Ralph realizes that letting her go will hurt very much, that he might not see her for long periods of time, but their friendship will still remain strong.  Even apart they will always cherish their strong tie.  For me, I love that they took this path, and surprisingly stuck with it.  It hurt me to see them waving goodbye one last time before Vanellope disappears into Slaughter Race.  It was like I could feel Ralph's pain and sadness right then.  And that's why I love the message of this movie.  It's hard letting go, but the right thing to do.

My favorite shot of the movie is the last scene.  Ralph having just finished talking with Vanellope, and the sun begins to rise on another day.  He sits in Game Central Station alone, looking up at the sun coming through the big windows above.  And...his expression I can only describe as: he's at peace.  He doesn't feel conflicted by what he's done, that Ralph had done the right thing to let Vanellope go, and that things will be okay.  And they would be okay, even if they are apart.
*sniffles* Getting a bit emotional talking about this.

End of the Spoilers

So, for my concluding thoughts, Ralph Breaks the Internet is a pretty good sequel.  It might not be the best compared to the original (no surprise there), but as a stand alone movie I think it did very well.  The characters were great, old and new, the animation was beautiful and the Internet, and the message was very powerful.  What can I say, I've watched it three times. :D

I Am Ready

Well, Ralph Breaks the Internet is premiering tomorrow.  After a long wait of a couple years since it was announced, it's finally here.  And I'm going to see it tomorrow. :D Wreck-It Ralph - Vanellope icon2 It Was At This Moment Bunny Knew: He Bucked Up
Got all the Ralph merch I could get beforehand (believe me I learned after failing to get on the bandwagon).  Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a good movie.  The trailers almost lead me astray, but the last one gave me confidence that it'll turn out good.

Another thing about this sequel, is for my story it'll not be canon.  I knew it wouldn't be, as I always considered it what happened on my side of the story.  I'm not too sad about this at all, in fact I'm content with it.  The story of Lucy is one that I created based on my love of this franchise, of the story of Wreck it Ralph.  :)

So for now, I'm going to get some good sleep, work my butt off tomorrow to get out and go see the movie.  Can't wait to tell you what I think.  Until then, cya later. :D :happybounce: Ralph Breaks the Internet - Ralph Icon
